Vijay Muni, OTR/L, CHT
Vijay Muni, MS, OTR/L, CHT, is a dedicated occupational therapist and certified hand therapist with a passion for helping patients regain function and independence after upper extremity injuries. Vijay currently works at an outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation center, where he helps patients recover from a range of conditions affecting their shoulders to hands. Vijay is a strong proponent of leveraging technology and artificial intelligence to enhance occupational and hand therapy practices, aiming to deliver the most effective and meaningful care possible. Vijay's commitment to AI in rehabilitation extends beyond patient care and currently uses AI in his personal life to organize his personal commitments and busy schedule. In Fall 2023, Vijay has presented at the NYS Occupational Therapy Association's annual conference, delving into the practical implementation of AI to enhance patient outcomes while addressing ethical considerations. Vijay's expertise was further recognized by the American Association of Occupational Therapy (AOTA) where he served as a panelist discussing AI integration in occupational therapy practice. Most recently, Vijay shared his insights on implementing AI in day-to-day practices on the AOTA podcast series. When he's not helping patients regain function, Vijay enjoys traveling to new destinations, practicing muay thai, and unwinding in the kitchen with some creative cooking.
