Margareta Persson

Margareta Persson is an experienced occupational and hand therapist, who started her career at the Malmo University Hospital Plastic surgery and Burns Unit, 1983 in Sweden. In 1985 she began to specialize in the treatment of hand injuries while working for the Hand Surgery clinic at Uppsala University Hospital. Since 1993, Maggi has combined part-time work at the Uppsala University Hospital Hand Surgery Clinic. She travels as a consultant to the children’s rehabilitation clinics as well as hand surgery clinics teaching hand therapy and splinting.

Maggi was the president of the Swedish Hand Therapy society for 10 years, a member of the International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy executive committee for 12 years, and the President of IFSHT from 2004-2007.

Maggi is a highly requested speaker and trainer. She has spoken at congresses and instructed courses in more than 40 countries around the world ranging from Scandinavia and Alaska to New Zealand and from Brazil to China.

Maggi was one of the first recipients of the IFSHT Lifetime Achievement Award 2019.
