Macy Stonner, OTD, OTR/L, CHT
Macy Stonner is an occupational therapist with clinical interests in neurological, orthopaedic, and degenerative conditions of the upper extremity. She completed her undergraduate education at Furman University (Greenville, SC), where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. She then completed her doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Macy has worked as a certified hand therapist (CHT) at the Milliken Hand Rehabilitation Center at Washington University School of Medicine since 2017. Macy’s research interests include strategies to improve functional outcomes following nerve and tendon repair and reconstruction. She also has interests in public policy and advocacy for increasing outpatient therapy coverage for under-resourced groups. She currently serves as a journal reviewer for the Journal of Hand Surgery, HAND, and the Occupational Therapy Journal of Research. She has presented at national conferences, including ASHT and ASSH, on flexor tendon outcomes, nerve transfer rehabilitation, health disparities, and post-operative opioid education. Macy also serves as an instructor in the Human Anatomy course for occupational therapy graduate students at Washington University School of Medicine.
