Karrianna Iseminger, PhD, OTD, OTR/L, CHT is an Assistant Professor in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at the University of North Dakota. Karrianna transitioned from clinical practice in hand therapy to academia in 2019 when she experienced her own upper extremity injury which limited her ability to meet the demands of a full-time practicing clinician. Committed to serving the occupational therapy profession and the hand therapy specialization, Karrianna is the current chair of the ASHT Awards Committee and is the Representative for North Dakota in the American Occupational Therapy Association's Representative Assembly. Her research interests are relevant to the psychosocial implications of upper extremity conditions and how hand therapy specialists may translate this knowledge to their practice through specific psychosocial evaluation and intervention strategies appropriate for the contextual demands of hand therapy.
