Ida Fox, MD

Ida Keiko Fox is nationally and internationally known for her work to restore hand and upper extremity function in the setting of mid-cervical level spinal cord injury (SCI). Her expertise extends more generally to include the care of complicated surgical problems in complex populations. Dr. Fox is Professor of Surgery and Hand Fellowship Program Director in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri, and a staff physician at the VA St. Louis Health Care System. After receiving her bachelor’s in biology from Haverford College in 1994, Fox earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. She completed her residency training in plastic surgery there and did a fellowship in the Peripheral Nerve Laboratory at Washington University in St. Louis. Finally, she completed a fellowship in hand, peripheral nerve and microsurgery at Washington University and was invited to join the faculty. She is board certified in plastic surgery with a sub-specialty certificate in hand surgery.
