David Plutschack

David Plutschack graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, NE with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Doctor of Occupational Therapy degrees. He joined the Des Moines University's Occupational Therapy Department in 2023 with a teaching focus in anatomy, kinesiology, hand therapy, ergonomics, and physical rehabilitation. Dr. Plutschack has held previous academic and administrative roles in Occupational Therapy Doctorate Programs as well as an adjunct role in a Master of Athletic Training Program. Dr. Plutschack’s clinical background includes a variety of adult rehabilitation settings including outpatient hand therapy, employee health and wellness, ergonomics, burn ICU, and inpatient rehabilitation. He holds a Board Certification in Physical Rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association and is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). He also has training and certifications in ergonomic assessments and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Dr. Plutschack’s research focuses on ergonomics, workplace health and wellness, upper extremity rehabilitation, and technology in the OT classroom.
