Teresa FitzSimons, , OTR/L, OTD, CHT

Teresa FitzSimons, OTD, OTR/L, CHT, is a Certified Hand Therapist at NYU Langone Health at their Langone Orthopedic Center. With a background working in-patient during the Covid-19 pandemic and completing a hand therapy fellowship, she developed a strong interest in professional development, mentorship, and supporting the long-term well-being of rehabilitation professionals. Teresa is passionate about fostering resilient, sustainable careers in hand therapy and helping clinicians navigate the challenges of today's healthcare environment. Drawing on her experience in a large academic medical center, she has developed a particular interest in burnout among healthcare professionals and the organizational and individual factors that influence clinician well-being. Teresa will present "Practicing Resiliency: Managing Burnout in Healthcare Settings," a session exploring the causes and consequences of burnout in healthcare and sharing practical, evidence-informed strategies to promote resilience, engagement, and career longevity within the hand therapy profession.
