Tauni Bird, OTD, OTR/L, CHT

Tauni Bird, OTD, OTR/L, CHT, is an occupational therapist, Certified Hand Therapist, and Hand and Upper Extremity Surgical Clinic Lead with the Indian Health Service in Chinle, Arizona. Her work focuses on quality, holistic, evidence-based hand and upper extremity care while expanding access to generalist occupational therapy services within indigenous communities. Her professional interests include sustainability, harm reduction, and health equity. She mentors student researchers and volunteers with the American Society of Hand Therapists, currently serving on its Environmental Sustainability Task Force. Outside practice, she supports reservation-based animal rescue efforts, enjoys music and reading, spends time with her animals, and explores the outdoors.
