Katherine Loomis, PhD, OTR/L, CHT
Katie Loomis, PhD, OTR/L, CHT, is a recent PhD graduate from the Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California. She has 13 years of clinical and research experience in hand therapy, is an active member of the ASHT Research Division, and a contributor and an ad hoc reviewer for several rehabilitation and hand therapy-oriented journals. Katie’s research interests center on facilitating large-scale, collaborative practice-based research to better understand and quantify the multidimensional process of hand therapy, and to produce impactful knowledge relevant to real-world, contextualized care. She is currently involved projects exploring the collaborative infrastructure of hand therapy research, facilitating partnerships between clinicians and researchers, and examining how care is captured in clinical documentation.
