Heather Hopkins

Heather Hopkins, MA, OTR/L, CHT is the Multi Site Supervisor for Hand Therapy in Connecticut at Motion PT Group, bringing over 20 years of clinical experience in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. She earned her MA in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California and became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2011. She also holds a BS in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State with a minor in Business.
Heather’s clinical expertise spans sports medicine, private practice, and hospital-based care, with a focus on orthopedic, postoperative, and chronic upper extremity conditions. She is committed to evidence-based evaluation and treatment, delivering high-quality, individualized care.
Her professional interests include pain management, joint stiffness, wrist fractures, elbow injuries, tendon repair, neurological recovery, pediatric hand therapy, and custom orthosis fabrication.
An active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), Heather has served as Chair of the Technology and Communications Committee, contributed to the Practice Management Committee, and participated in the ASHT Leadership Development Program. She is also a published author and has served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Hand Therapy.
Outside the clinic, Heather enjoys hiking, yoga, music, and travel. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, two sons, and two dogs.
