Nicole Tran

Nicole A. Tran, OTS, is a second-year Doctor of Occupational Therapy student at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia where she majored in Human Development and Family Science.

Nicole currently serves as a research assistant at George Washington Medical Faculty Associates, where she is involved in data collection for a study focused on distal radius fractures. This experience has further fueled her interest in upper extremity and strengthened her goal of pursuing a career in hand therapy.

Her primary areas of interest include hand therapy and neurorehabilitation, particularly working with individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries. She is drawn to the problem-solving nature of these specialties and is passionate about helping patients regain function and independence through evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Outside of her academic and clinical pursuits, Nicole volunteers at events to support accessibility for individuals with mobility challenges. Her volunteer experience includes assisting with wheelchair rugby tournaments, providing transportation support for the United Spinal Association, and helping out at local Smithsonian museums to ensure smooth and inclusive participation for all attendees.

Nicole is committed to continued growth as a future occupational therapist and looks forward to expanding her clinical skills through hands-on fieldwork and interdisciplinary collaboration.
